Windy Ridge is a plot of land located above the hamlet of Bellochantuy about ten miles north of Campbeltown.

It is in a rural location on a hillside with stunning views over the Atlantic to the neighbouring Inner Hebridean islands of  Gigha and Jura.

The plot of land is just under 1.5 acres in size and is accessed from the main road A83 via a private road.  The closest neighbour is a farm about a quarter of a mile away.

This picture was taken from the driveway.  The shed in the middle marks the corner and the fences on the skyline, the borders of the land.

In this picture the land borders are the fence to the right-hand side up to the post in the centre of the picture.

This is the view from the top of the field.

There is approved planning permission for a large 1.5 storey 2-bedroomed house including a swimming pool, and I have been informally advised that the planners would be amenable to a property up to five bedrooms.

Campbeltown itself is a charming little town, very friendly folk and great opportunities for a social life.  I go out now more than I ever did in London!

There are all the usual shops, and a cinema which is the oldest picture house in Scotland still showing movies!  There is a hospital, doctors and dentists. schools with excellent records.  We have a cheese factory, malt whisky distilleries and a thriving lumber industry.

There is golf, sailing, bridge, bowling and so very much more.

The crime rate here is practically non-existent - quite often the only things appearing in the town newspaper,  Campbeltown Courier  are along the lines of kids throwing stones or the memorable Man Spits at Sherrif!

We also have our own radio station Argyll FM

There are some great beaches around, and glorious landscapes. Paul Macartney's famous Mull of Kintyre was inspired here. Wildlife not only abounds but is easily accessible - wild seals can be seen just a few yards from the road, and even Campbeltown Loch and harbour have seals and swans.

Although it's tiny, the Machrihanish Seabird and Wildlife Observatory is marvellous, as is the Scottish Owl Centre
